A hardy few catsailors meet at Austin Yacht Club every New Year's Day to wow the keelboaters by racing our boats in this New Year's institution. Stephanie and I have rented a cabin at the YC, and tho we will be on a keelboat this time (no raceable cats in the fleet right now) y'all come on out. Join us to kick of the 2009 sailing season TCDYC style - with a party at the Green's/Granger compound in League City. Whether you are an old timer, or brand new to catamaran sailing and want to meet like minded people you are all welcome. Food is courtesy of TCDYC, just bring something to fill the cooler with.

The 2009 Division 6 sailing season will kick off this current weekend with Ides of March regatta. I spoke to Roger Poe this weekend and all preparations have been made and he + a team of volunteers will be there this weekend to lay on another great event.

Turnback is a very beach-cat-friendly long distance race held annually on Lake Travis in Austin. Saturday's start is in the basin of the lake adjacent to Austin Yacht Club, and the course proceeds roughly 23 miles up the lake to Lago Vista, TX, usually overnighting at the Bar K Park. Shower facilities are available, as well as camping areas. Beer and dinner are furnished. The Yacht Club furnishes a large truck to carry your gear, so if you have have a lot of stuff (or a REALLY small boat!) you can race without being weighed down.

It's that time of year again to head down to Corpus Christi for the Sand Dunes regatta.  The regatta boast one of the best in hospitatlity and you for sure don't want to miss it.
 
 

A bunch of folk are heading up to Welch park at Lake Sommerville this coming weekend to sail and hang out. Folk that I know are coming: Marc and Susan, Tommy & Suzy, Me and Karen, Jim and Linda, Mike Niggli & Mrs Niggli.

C'mon and join us. I'll be boatless and happy to do a little coaching.

A no frills event with Skipper's Meeting at 10AM.

Skipper's meeting is at 10AM, a nofrills long distance race in Sabine Lake.

This event is always a favorite of the TCDYC crowd!  Any sailing that also involves camping is right up our alley. This year, Scott is reviving the 'round the island format!  This race will always be dear to me as it was my first catamaran race, the first time I trapped-out, and the only time I've seen Andrew in my rear view mirror ;)  Not to mention the most off the hook Poker Run to never happen again....LOL
